Early Acceptance Programs at South

Do you have aspirations beyond a bachelor’s degree? Are you positive you want to go to graduate school? The University of South Alabama offers motivated students the opportunity to apply for early acceptance programs in the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing, as well as our programs in pharmacy, physical therapy, and psychology.

Here’s a closer look at some of our early acceptance offerings. 

 

College of Medicine

Can you imagine already being admitted to medical school before you begin your undergraduate degree? The University of South Alabama makes that happen for a select few high school seniors every year. This early acceptance program is jointly offered by the University’s Honors College and the College of Medicine. Contingent upon satisfactory completion of the program, this early acceptance program requires a satisfactory application to the Honors College, 3.5 GPA, and a 27 ACP composite score for Alabama residents or a 30 ACT composite for out-of-state students. 

 

College of Nursing

Have a passion for medicine and helping others? The College of Nursing has an early acceptance program for highly qualified high school seniors. If students are selected for the program and fulfill all program requirements, they are guaranteed admission to the professional component of the nursing curriculum. To be eligible for consideration for this phenomenal opportunity, students must have an ACT composite score of at least 25 and a GPA of 3.5, as well as be a high school senior and admitted to USA.

 

Pharmacy

To offer the best opportunities to students in our state, the University of South Alabama has partnered with Auburn University to offer highly qualified incoming students a position in Auburn’s Harrison School of Pharmacy upon successful completion of prerequisite requirements and their USA undergraduate degree. To be eligible for consideration for this opportunity, students must have an ACT composite score of at least 26 and a GPA requirement of 3.5, as well as be a high school senior and admitted to USA.

 

Physical Therapy

If you’re pursuing a career in physical therapy, you might be interested in our Department of Physical Therapy Early Acceptance Program, which offers a selected number of talented high school seniors a position in the University of South Alabama Department of Physical Therapy first-year class after completion of the prerequisite requirements of the program and the USA undergraduate degree. The requirements consist of a 28 ACT Composite score, a 3.5 GPA, prior admission to USA, and current high school senior status. 

 

Psychology

Have you always been fascinated with the human brain and our behavior?  The Department of Psychology offers highly qualified high school students a position in the Master's Program in Experimental Psychology (Behavior and Brain Sciences) upon successful completion of prerequisite requirements and their USA undergraduate degree. To be eligible for this program, students will need a 27 ACT Composite score, a 3.5 high school GPA, and acceptance to USA.
